“Connecting in a time of disconnect”.

Seven artist/designer/makers including myself came together during Covid 19 to mount an exhibition. Initially, due to the lockdown we were using this time as an opportunity to practise curating and photographing work. The experience gave me the perfect opportunity to practise video and to learn how to edit it. Here’s my first attempt, introducing the work of:

ART360 Interview with Lesley Samms

Lesley Samms interviewed me in Autumn 2020 asking about my earliest memories, my journey and how I came to be a picture framer.

Having experienced the isolation of the first Covid 19 lockdown, I joined PURE Arts Group. A well-established, professionally run organisation founded by marketing expert Lesley Samms. It’s no coincidence that Lesley has a passion for art and artists. She revels in encouraging them to tap into her experience helping them to succeed as professional creators.

Due to the impending first lockdown Lesley had a plan for the group’s 2020 “actual” exhibitions. They were re-presented as ART360, a virtual event which started as live interviews from artists’ studios, but has already grown into a diverse and international event.

Due to “IT” issues resulting in poor quality visuals my first interview with Lesley was published as a podcast. Here’s that interview. If you have questions of your own, please do just drop me a line I would love to hear from you.

Sponsoring Canterbury Arts Conference 2019

Earlier in July I was proud to sponsor the School’s Art Competition, one of the elements of the Canterbury Arts Conference 2019, and had the privilege of presenting the prizes to the four category winners. I’ll be framing the winning entries and can’t wait to receive the artwork.

I also had (for me) the nerve wracking responsibility of saying a few words explaining why I wanted to support the competition. THIS is a run through of that presentation.
