I’m Bev, I’ve been involved in picture framing since joining Aza Adlam at Decent Exposure in Bristol back in the early 90’s. Aza was a talented intuitive framer with many years’ experience and, lucky for me was happy to pass on her experience and accumulated knowledge. After relocating to Kent I opened Edge Bespoke Picture Framing in 2012 and started developing my own business, and like Aza I’m gaining the confidence and respect of my clients.

This website promotes my picture framing services, and gives you art lovers the opportunity to connect with me. Welcome to my first “proper” blog, to be followed by many more sharing thoughts, ideas and tips with you. I’m also reaching out to business owners who might be thinking about displaying art in their working environment, and having work framed. As a creative person, I’ve been lucky enough to experiment in a number of design industries, it’s through this varied experience I bring fresh ideas and never stop learning.

The term, “busman’s holiday” comes from the late 1800’s, where a man who drives a bus for a living, goes on a long journey for a holiday.  So by definition, it’s a holiday during which you spend most of your time doing what you do at work. It’ll come as no surprise then that I just love snooping around other frame shops and galleries when I’m out and about. It’s kind of natural when you’re passionate about what you do.

So as the business develops I plan to meet and connect with some great gallery owners and artists, and bring back a taster for you. Why? To introduce you to talent and inspiration near and far. You never know, if you haven’t already you might get the bug, but to start with look out for my next blog which asks the question “Why frame your artwork?”
